COLIN HAGANS, PROGRAMME DIRECTOR

Colin Hagans is a development practitioner with 15 years’ experience designing and managing youth workforce development, TVET system strengthening, entrepreneurship, and agriculture/food security programming in Southern Africa. Colin is passionate about bringing diverse stakeholders together in new and innovative ways to solve tough challenges. He leveraged this approach when working with NAACAM to design High Gear, and he’s proud to lead implementation of the initiative. ANGELA GOVENDER, TVET CURRICULUM ENHANCEMENT MANAGER

Angela has worked in the education space for 18 years, gaining experience in developing education solutions, managing large-scale programmes and providing teacher training in various countries. As a seasoned Curriculum Developer, she is passionate about creating sustainable education systems with capacitated key partners that advance work readiness skills and employability of youth. In a bid to keep a healthy balance between the body and mind, Angela enjoys dance of any kind and is happiest relishing brunch after a Sunday hike. KERRIN ODENDAAL, PROGRAMME MANAGER RISK AND PLANNING

Kerrin has worked in the field of health consulting for 11 years, gaining experience in project management, budgeting and forecasting, report writing and overseeing activity-based workplans. In her role as Programme Manager Risk and Planning, she oversees multiple donor budgets and reporting as well as manages project risks and plans. MASAKHANE MLAMLA, PROGRAMME MANAGER, EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE

Masakhane has worked in the skills development sector for over 10 years, gaining experience in designing scalable impactful solutions for youth empowering initiatives. Masa is also appointed by the Minister in Department of Higher Education and Training to serve as a TVET college Council member. As the Programme Manager for the High Gear project in the Eastern Cape, he is responsible for establishing and managing partnerships with the automotive industry and TVET colleges and ensuring provincial operations of the project. JETHRO ABEL, PROGRAMME MANAGER, KWAZULU-NATAL PROVINCE

Jethro has worked in the development industry for 7 years, gaining experience in FinTech, public healthcare financing and presently, youth employment and skills development. As the Programme Manager for the High Gear project in KwaZulu-Natal, Jethro is responsible for establishing and managing partnerships with the automotive industry and TVET colleges and ensuring provincial operations of the project. SIYANDA MAGUBANE, MERL OFFICER, KWAZULU-NATAL PROVINCE

Siyanda has worked in the development sector for 9 years, gaining key skills in M&E systems development, evaluation and research design as well as strategy development. As the High Gear MERL Officer in KwaZulu Natal, he is responsible for managing participatory M&E approaches and tools for learning and strategic decision making. Siyanda is also involved in providing mentorship support for people interested in developing a career in M&E. SIMPHIWE NKOSI, MERL OFFICER, EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE

Simphiwe has worked in the Monitoring and Evaluation industry for over 7 years, gaining experience in technical support for all M&E processes, development and and ensuring appropriate quality-assurance frameworks for programmes. As the High Gear MERL Officer in the Eastern Cape, he is responsible for managing participatory M&E approaches and tools for learning and strategic decision making. ANGELINA GOVINDSAMY, EMPLOYER PARTNERSHIPS OFFICER

Angelina has worked in the education, training and development industry for 16 years, gaining experience in quality assurance, project management and ETD technical advisory services. In her role as Employer Partnerships Officer in KwaZulu-Natal, she drives youth development and gender equity through supporting partnerships between TVET colleges and the automotive manufacturing industry.
